Mary's good choice


In the years God has been called many things, wonderful maker, true lover, a good friend, and many more. Well, these all are true but there is one major character of God we often fail to grasp but we witness in our daily lives, the fact that God is a good teacher.

Many times we seek for new things; we don't want to go through the path already set for us. We always ask” what's wrong with doing it this way? my way? “, and we all know the consequences we faced afterwards.

I saw this movie the other day and it amazed me in some ironic way. The movie is basically about this couple who tried to avoid the so called marriage and parenting. They decided to skip marriage because their friends have gotten “too busy” after they had children. So what they do is they create a short cut out of marriage. As a grown up viewer, I was like “this will never work!” half way between the movie and I kept watching to see what devastating things are going to happen to them at last. First convinced about their discovered shortcut, the couple applied their own little path in their lives and the movie shows how their discovered shortcut destroys their life.

Well, I think this is a magnified image of our typical nature, we all try to be discoverers. Many times I found myself not accepting what others have told me. I don't just obey stuff, I want to prove it. I don't listen to friends, my elders but more dangerously I don't listen to God! I ask”what's wrong with doing it my way?”



As I mentioned earlier, God is an amazing teacher and never fails teaching, one way or the other. When I look at my past most of the things I learned, I learned them the hard way. I noticed God teaches through his words, which is the easy way, and then if we don't get it, comes the practical lesson. I have come to regret the times I have been a tough leaner, I wish I learned stuff the easy way. I wish I was a good student rather than a discoverer. I am not saying God doesn't teach us the hard way but if we were to cooperate, the devastations we faced being a tough learners could have been avoided.We all know if we were easy learners, we don't have to go the hard way and we will save time for the next lesson thereby being mature spiritually.





May God help us understand him more that way we know what he is teaching us and when. May God give us the blessing of learning things the easy way; after all he is an awesome teacher

 Like many raised in Christian family,I was thought to pray in the morning, before meals and be thankful. But it took some growing up to really understand the true significance of giving God credit to everything, including those you think you achieved on your own. The way I felt about the issue

In medicine, we have a thing called referred pain. If you haven’t grasp is already, it’s when one part of your body gets sick and the pain gets diverted to another organ. The reason behind is the nerve supplying the affected part also supplies the other “un-involved” part; in simple words, one feels pain essentially on the “wrong spot!” Externally speaking, these organs seem healthy without the original pain being on site, but they feel the excruciating effects of the injury, even worse at times! I have taken the freedom to extend this concept to a greater scale. In a way, assuming what would have happened if the original insult happened on the referred site, whether the secondary part is protected from an injury of that scale? What if the acid burning the gastric mucosa was poured on the back; what if the effects of tuberculosis causing heart damage were applied to the shoulder?
